My new hiding place from the sun :)
Guten Tag (Good Afternoon), Hope you all had a blessed Sunday and a lovely weekend! We definitely had a blessed Sunday as our new friends Kathy and Stanley came to visit us in the afternoon. They wanted to play a few hymns and songs that had blessed them that day. Afterwards we chatted; it was such a sweet and unexpected blessing I was really encouraged and still am as I reread Philippians 4: 13, and 16 which was sent over by a friend: "I can do all things through him who strengthens me." and "And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." He has met me over and over! When I feel like there is nothing left to give or overwhelmed with my head spinning, He fills me up again in my confusion so I might be able to continue to serve Mom. What a good God <3 This morning Mom was doing pretty good with the pain and we tackled the stairs with one of the many physiotherapists, Nick. As ya'll know Mom
hasn't been looking forward to those stairs but we were so blessed with such a kind, energetic physiotherapist that the experience was actually really enjoyable. Nick cracked jokes and told stories as he guided Mom down the hall and back again. She also got to borrow one of their special canes which Nick fondly calls "Bob" lol!
Dr. Bierstedt also popped in again today; he had taken a look at her new x-ray's from Friday and wanted to let us know the implant was still secure and was in the correct position. Yahoo and praise the Lord! He also assured Mom that due to the complexity of her surgery, things would proceed slower then the other patients and that all was good There has been much morphine and napping the last few days which has been good for healing Yesterday she napped three times and as I sit out near the fountains in the shade of a large bush (yes I'm hiding from the sun, typical redhead!) she is napping again. Yesterday also marked a large mile stone for her; Mom ate her first meal sitting at the table since last Tuesday!! It was a quick meal but she had been so wanting to eat a meal in the solarium attached to our room that looks out onto the garden. I think she was quite happy!
Today also marks one week away from Canada, approximately two more to go! Auf Wiedersehen (Goodbye!)
