Hello Everyone!
We haven’t posted an update in quite a while and thought the one year anniversary of Mom’s surgery is the perfect occasion to give y’all one! Last year today Mom was in incredible pain and being wheeled into surgery, today she is completely med free, has more mobility and continues to positively progress!
Mom has come halfway through the two year expected recovery time. She has made wonderful improvements in the past year! Mom is now enjoying attending church more and more often and we’re so thankful to have her with us on a Sunday morning as often as she is able! She is also enjoying being able to sit up while riding in the car, walking without any form of assistance, and spending much time cooking and baking. She feels incredibly blessed to be regularly treated by an osteopath, Davis Bricker of Salus Manual Therapy. This treatment has been very beneficial in the healing process. She is also about to start a new round of physiotherapy and we’re all looking forward to seeing even more progress.
Mom does still struggle with pain due to displaced pressure from the implant, muscular tension, and mass amounts of scar tissue. This does make sitting for long periods of time difficult but therapy and massage have been a great relief and her therapist has much more planned for the future!
This past year Mom has done things she never would have thought she could! One incredible way she’s blessed our home and our church family is playing a huge role on the church event committee with the rest of our family. Working from home, she’s had a hand in planning the church Christmas play, the couples Valentine’s Day evening and is now spending her time planning this summer’s vacation Bible school. All of this together with finishing homeschooling Luke through the last of his grade 12 requirements has kept her quite busy. Our family has continued to be blessed by her constant prayers, counsel, teaching and everyday household tasks!
We’re so encouraged by her progress and praising God for where He’s brought her in a year! We would so appreciate your prayers and encouragement through the ups and downs of the second half of her recovery!
"Praise God from whom all blessings flow, praise Him from down here below"!
