Hello all!
Yes it's true, today is the last day at the hospital! We were surprised yesterday with the news and it was confirmed by the doctor that we will be headed to Gelsenkirchen tomorrow. Which is about 25 minutes away and is where the rehab center, Medicos, is located. So tomorrow morning the staff from Medicos will be picking us up and we will be staying there till we leave Germany. We are both so thankful for the kind and helpful staff here at the hospital but are very happy to be relocated to a quieter and more private location for the rest of our stay. Mom and I are even more thankful that the Lord has brought us safely to the end of the first third of the trip. With His help we have crossed over the threshold of the most harrowing part of our journey; so much could have gone wrong but thus far He has protected us!
Mom had a really epic morning and is doing so well with her physiotherapy! Today she was able to do her whole physiotherapy without a cane!! She hasn't been able to walk without a cane or assistance for months!! Nik seemed please with her progress and was able to take her to work with the parallel bars. They are using parallel bars to aid Mom in learning to walk properly again after so many years of pain and displacement due to her scoliosis.
One of the staff members who we have grown a special friendship with would be, Burhan. Before we knew his name we nicknamed him "The Cappuccino Man"! His job is to make/serve Cappuccino,Macchiato , Coffee and Espresso along with serving desserts. What an epic job!! He is a short, middle age Turkish man with a smile that lights up the room He comes by the rooms twice a day and looks so disappointed if you don't order anything....lol so of course we always have to have something! Today being our last day we gave him a card thanking him with a gospel tract in it. Please uplift Burhan in prayer when you think of him :)
We will be heading to Medicos with Kathy and Stanley to continue with more advanced physiotherapy; so blessed to have their friendship That just about sums up today, I'm off to continue packing us up for tomorrow's move!!
***sorry if the pictures appear oddly sized and the last two sentences are squished! It's not behaving it's self....the post looks great in edit mode but when I post it flips around!
